Creative Compromise – Is the Relationship Worth Striving for?

What if you’re headed down the old path once again? Same old, same old. It’s time to get excited, and start anew. To reach success, we have to take things in stride. The same goes for relationships, whether at work, home, or play. The challenge is to look before we leap. Stepping out of line, jumping to conclusions, blaming someone else for the conflict, or the reason behind the dysfunction isn’t going to solve the issue. Remember, it takes two for any great connection to work. Both parties need to address what requires addressing, in a communicable way, being prepared to not just compromise, but to bring into play… creative compromise.

FINDING COMFORT IN BEING UNCOMFORTABLE?

We sometimes stay in a workplace, in a relationship, or friendship because we are comfortably, uncomfortable. From time to time, we simply stay, for no reason. Other than, we love what we do and those we do it with, despite the conditions. Although, there’s something important to consider, and that is love, trust, acceptance, and respect do not and will not flourish where there’s a steady stream of conflict. The place of strife is an unhealthy place, where you invariably strive to achieve a sense of belonging, of acceptance, and some semblance of peace. Whether to stay or go will be a tough call. On one hand, we want to hold on to the familiar, and on the other hand, we want to move to calmer waters.

To stay in conflict, you expose your heart and soul to something God hadn’t intended to be part of your life. To go, there will be apprehension, reluctance, and uncertainty. Doubtful of your judgment, but certain you are making a big mistake. Remember, it’s okay to make mistakes. Mistakes are just part of life, although, it’s still a difficult situation when having to face the fork in the road. One way or another, you will have to choose what’s best for you.

STRIVE FOR CREATIVE COMPROMISE

Consistent disharmony isn’t what we signed up for… is it? Keep in mind when you release the negativity you enable positive energy to flow in and through your life. When we remain hopeful, we see things from a thoroughly different perspective. With hope, we become more tolerant of the conditions surrounding us. We can live with the good and even the not so good sides of the experience. But it is here, we clearly see both sides. However, what happens when your heart draws attention to good times, bad times, and everything in between? Well, this just helps us to consider that every problem, every person, and every life is multifaceted. The world of beauty versus its ugliness. Once we understand the intricacies of life, we are better able to make a sound decision.

If determined to stay, there has to be forgiveness, respect, and trust, or else what’s the point? If we make-believe and imagine things are okay when they undoubtedly aren’t, that’s another story. Perhaps you can fool yourself but you can’t fool others. People can see the storyline that’s playing out in your life. To live this way, well, let’s just say this is no way to live. It’s time to stop pretending. Remove the blindfold and catch sight of what’s really taking place. Observe the other person or party, but don’t neglect to scrutinize yourself as well.

WHAT IF…  WE ARE MISSING THE POINT AND THE ONLY THING MISSING IS CREATIVE COMPROMISE

What if it’s you who needs to change some aspect of yourself, so you can see someone or something in a different light? Besides, there are times when we are wrong. And if that be the case, we have to swallow our pride, give our ego the boot, and respect differences exist and can coexist. More to the point, some relationships are what they are and need to be released while others are so worth striving for. Especially, when both sides wish to meet halfway without having to sacrifice what it is they love. When we are willing to compromise creatively, there’s an eagerness to cooperate, excited to start anew. Together we make something not so good, great.
